Okay, now that I got my Biggie and 2pac jokes out of the way, on to the science! What I find interesting is the difference water chemistry made on these beers. Malt: Golden Promise, White Wheat, Munich 10L.This beer will leave you saying I like it when you call me big hoppa. Just like the West Coast, this hides it’s 8% abv very well. The aroma is over-ripe fruit, the flavor is juicy tropical fruits and hints of pine, followed by a soft but herbal bitterness. Next up, we’ve got the Hypnotize East Coast DIPA. I won’t deny it, this is a bitter hop monster. It is dry and crisp, almost like a Pilsner, completely hiding its 8%abv. Despite the sweaty glass (thanks, Georgia heat) this is a very clear beer. Super piney and resiny with hints of tropical fruit, this is one lean mean palate wrecker.
